Malik Abdul Jabbar
Privacy notice
This site collects very little, and only to answer messages.
Controller: Malik Abdul Jabbar, Jakarta, Indonesia. Contact: the contact form.
What is collected
- Contact form: name, email, organisation (optional) and message. They are used only to reply and to follow up on the request.
- Bot protection: the contact form uses a bot-protection check that processes technical signals from the browser to tell people from bots. It does not use cookies for advertising.
- Language preference: when a visitor chooses a language, a cookie named
langis stored for one year so the site opens in that language next time. It contains only the language code. - Form draft: while the contact form is being filled in, its fields are kept in the browser tab’s session storage, so a failed send does not lose the message. The draft never leaves the browser and is deleted once the message is sent; otherwise the browser discards it with the tab’s session.
- Server logs: technical logs (such as IP addresses) are kept for security, for up to three months.
Personal data is never sold and never used for advertising.
Legal basis
Contact form data is processed on the basis of the sender’s consent, given with the checkbox on the form, and my legitimate interest in answering professional enquiries. This follows Indonesia’s Personal Data Protection Law (Law No. 27 of 2022, “UU PDP”) and, where it applies, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Processors
- Security and bot-protection service (filtering abusive traffic and checking the contact form).
- Transactional email provider (delivery of the contact form message to my mailbox).
- Email provider (the mailbox where the message is stored).
Some of these providers process data outside Indonesia, under their contractual data protection commitments. The names of the providers are available on request.
Retention
Contact form messages are kept for up to 24 months after the last exchange, unless they become part of a contract, in which case contract retention rules apply.
Rights
Any sender can ask for access, correction or deletion of their data, withdraw consent, or object to processing, through the contact form. Requests are answered within the time limits set by law. A complaint can also be made to the data protection authority.
